Fury Distortion Plugin (Quick Review)There are some types of music production tools and effects I seem to always want more of. Reverb is one, distortion is another. Check out the plugin here: Fury Distortion VST Plugin.

Heavyocity have made a very unique type of distortion plugin that not only have multiple distortion types to choose from, but is also very easy to dial in the tone, character and blend of the final sound.

It has a modular design with: drive mode, distortion mode and tone mode, which you can mix and match as you like.

However, the most unique aspect is the “movement engine” with a customizable envelope, LFO and rhythmic sequencer. All of these movement engines can then be assigned to different parameter targets. This way you can add some motion and rhythm into the distortion sound.

The main knobs of the plugin control the most important parameters, which makes this plugin very quick to use and dial in the settings you like. Distortion level, movement level, tone, and parallell mix (wet/dry).

Of course, the plugin comes with a lot of presets in different categories, but I personally prefer to start from the “essentials” folder and then dial in further to customize the tone.

My Favorite aspects of Fury

1. Lots of Distortion Variations
2. Modular Design
3. The Movement Engine
4. Great Quick Settings
5. Clean GUI with Resize

My Feedback

1. I would like Quick Parameter Automation (for example on right-click)
2. It would be nice to have some kind of Automatic Level Balance
3. More Movement Targets (parameters) would be wonderful
