You must also have maximum control over the peak output level, so that it does never exceed a certain threshold, or even worse…clip!
The champion effect for this is the Limiter. Sometimes it is called a brickwall limiter, simply because it will never let the audio waveform above a certain level.
It can even be called a maximizer, if you intend to push the average level of your music up. Regardless, a high quality limiter plugin is essential to have in your music production arsenal.
