Which VST Synth Plugins are the best if you want to do your own sound design, modulations, automations etc. to create your own unique sound presets?

Omnisphere (Spectrasonics)
Omnisphere is a true power synth, with 100s of oscillator waveforms, waveshaper effects, sampled sound sources, lots of LFOs, envelopes and an extremely powerful modulation matrix. It ranks number one for sound design power of all synth plugins in the world. The true king of synths for sound design.
Serum (Xfer Records)
Serum is excellent for quick and easy routing and automation locking of both sources and target parameters. It includes several LFOs + envelopes, which you can write your own automation curves into. The interface has a clear layout, and is very quick to work with, which is important especially for advanced sound design.
Diva (u-he)
This classic Moog Synth era inspired plugin is super flexible in the way the modules are set up, where you can quickly change out the synth engine (all classic analog era synths), pre-filter, main filter and both 2 envelopes. It does not have as powerful modulation routing capabilities as Omnisphere or Serum, but it makes up for it with its incredibly rich and deep sound of the synth engine and filters.
